REFOCUS - Parenting in the digital age

Do you feel overwhelmed by the devices with screens that have become part of your life and the lives of your children?
Are you concerned about the effects of screen time on your family life?
Are you worried about online bullying and gaming addictions?  
Would you like help developing a clear digital strategy for your family? 
 
REFOCUS is an essential course that will:

  • Provide tools and clear strategies around screen use, specifically tailored to your family needs. 
  • Help to build digital resilience and make you and your children more prepared for the future of the rapid technological advance.
  • Teach you how to handle cyberbullying, manage teenage social media drama and prevent gaming addictions.
  • Give you an access to useful resources
  • Coach you on how to use essential software for safety and screen time management. 

Here is what you need to know: 

What - 6 two-hour workshops on the following Tuesday evenings: 

When - 25 February, 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 March  

All sessions start at 7:30pm and will be finished by 9:30pm

Where - KingsGate Kingston, 161a Clarence Street, KT1 1QT

Cost - £70 per family    

The course will be limited to 20 families only and, where possible, it is recommended that both parents take part. However, parents can alternate if necessary. The price is the same whether one or both attend.

DigiScope was founded by Iris Urazov. Iris has a BA in Political Science and Media and an MA with distinction in Media and Communication. She has been inspiring and equipping young people in Sweden, Israel and in the UK for over 20 years. Her research passion is interpersonal relationships in the digital age. Recently she conducted a study on the role of Instant Messaging and social media in teenage friendships. Iris is married to Alex and and they have two teenage children.
